The game has aged a fair bit, but I feel it's still worth playing. I get why it's so iconic. I'd give it a 8.5/10. I get why it was a 10/10 in 1998, but I didn't get 10/10 enjoyment out of it in 2023. Although I didn't play the Half-Life franchise before, I knew how highly people regarded them, especially HL2.

For what it's worth, I could absolutely not play Half Life 1. I tried three times but it feels so slow and repetitive, the controls feel pretty dated, and the atmosphere of Black Mesa is uninteresting to me. On the other hand, I just played Half Life 2 for the first time last month and I enjoyed it.
